Dr. Sotirios Tetradis serves as the Senior Associate Dean of the School of Dentistry at UCLA and Professor in the Division of Diagnostic and Surgical Sciences. He also serves as an advisor to the combined D.D.S./Ph.D. program in oral biology.
Dr. Tetradis earned his DDS at the University of Athens before getting his Ph.D. at the University of Connecticut Health Center.
In a Title IX lawsuit filed against the Regents of the University of California in 2019, a resident at the UCLA School of Dentistry made sexual harassment claims against Dr. Tetradis, saying she would not be able to graduate from the doctoral program without his help and insisting that she file a false Title IX complaint against her advisor, Dr. Eric Kang Ting. When the resident refused, she says she was the victim of retaliation and harassment during the rest of her time at UCLA.
In 2020, Dr. Tetradis was named as a defendant in a lawsuit filed by Dr. Eric Kang Ting, that alleged Dr. Tetradis “filed a false Title IX complaint on Dr. [Justine] Tanjaya’s behalf claiming Dr. Ting had harassed her, … Dr. Tanjaya categorically denied these allegations, which Dr. Tetradis purportedly made on her behalf, … and embarked [with Dean Paul Krebsbach and other UCLA administrators] on a campaign to drive him out of the University…and that [Dr. Ting suffered] at the hands of the Defendants retaliatory abuse, harassment, and discrimination.” In an article from May 28, 2020, The College Fix wrote, “when Kang Eric Ting testified against a senior official in a sexual harassment proceeding in 2018, the UCLA professor of dentistry put a target on his back. The official whom he testified against, Senior Associate Dean Sotirios Tetradis, tried to get the student who accused Tetradis to falsely accuse Ting, her mentor.” A May 29, 2020 article in the Daily Wire carried the headline, “UCLA Professor Testified Against Dean In Sexual Harassment Case. The Dean Filed A False Title IX Complaint On Behalf Of HIS Accuser To Frame Professor.”
